so, isabella posted two comments about my first blog, and i didn't know that she had. the posts get sent to my site for me to moderate first, but i didn't look there. (oops!) then when i checked the email where blogger stuff gets sent, i saw messages about comments to moderate.
what i have learned from this: i need to either turn off moderation or check for comments to moderate twice a day. i would rather not moderate comments before they turn up on my site, but i am not sure how to do this.
when i figure this part out, i will add it as a comment to this post.
thanks very much isabella for your comments and persistence. it helps me learn about this new technology.

on the settings tab, i selected comments, and there is a radio button to enable moderation of comments. i disabled it, so now anyone who can read the screen word verification can post a comment.
this will be much better.
